The sunsets are near magic!
The views are panoramic, stretching for miles, and miles. The property is only 5+/- miles to either South Bay on Lake Champlain, or the Vermont border.
Surrounding the house are a variety of well maintained outbuildings, including this charming 8'x8' dog house with accompanying 30'x100'+/- fenced area for your cherished pets
The kennel, and enclosed run, is beneath a canopy of towering shade trees.
Everywhere you look is a variety of colorful perennials and assorted flowering shrubs.
You’ll enjoy a number of ornamental landscape features, including this quaint wishing well ......
The back yard is very private, considering the back yard is only 187 Acres. How’s that for a back yard?!?!
While listing this exhilaration property, we were taken with a variety of special features.
Immediately behind the house is this huge, 21'x50'+/-, 2 story garage. The second level is large enough to store several auto’s. Amenities include a great workshop, plus a wood furnace.
The garage is huge!
Craftsmen, handymen, and the like, will be sure to enjoy the spacious workshop.
Just above the garage is another huge outbuilding, a 36'x48'+/-, four bay pole barn.
This structure is perfect for storing an endless amount of equipment.
As you leave the house, and outbuildings complex, you’ll be greeted by endless trails, leading to a park like forest preserve.
The current owners harvest and process their own firewood to be used in both the workshop and house wood furnaces. (The house also has oil hot air heat)
The trail leading to the "stage coach barn", the stream, the apple orchard, numerous woodland clearings, and the deer camp, is simply sensational. The labor and materials used creating this interior roadway was considerable. You can drive along this wonderful private drive.
Every bend in the road is different from the last.... you’ll drive under a canopy of towering hardwood trees, and fragrant evergreens.
As the sun filters through the high canopy above, light cascades itself upon lichen covered, century old stone wall fences.
If these old stones could talk, they would tell a story of how our forefathers cleared the land, most often stacking the individual stones, creating these remarkable walls. They are truly historic.
As you travel the land you’ll be amazed by the secrete clearings ... home to elusive whitetail deer, grouse, turkeys, woodcock and smaller woodland creatures.
You’ll travel a considerable distance before you’ll find this early period barn, purported, according to local legend, to have been a stage coach stop. This piece of Americana features a slate roof, and hand hewn beams.
This early period structure, given its age, appears to be in relatively good condition. It also serves as one of the current owners deer stand.
The "Stage Coach Barn" overlooks an adjacent apple orchard, frequented by a considerable whitetail deer population, as well as grouse and turkey.
You’ll be impressed by the diverse landscape, hiding views of secluded valleys.
The current owners have gone to great lengths to achieve the ultimate trail system. This bridge allows access to unlimited snowmobiling, hiking, hunting, picnic outings, gathering firewood, etc, etc, etc ....
It just keeps getting better, and better. This babbling stream provides sustenance to the area wildlife, as well as a diverse aquatic community.
Have you ever experienced a night time symphony performed by Mother Nature’s Musicians? Imagine listening to deep throated bull frogs in concert with the haunting call of Whippoorwills, the distant hoot of a reclusive Owl, all in harmony with a million Crickets. Top it off with a star filled universe. Does it get any better??
If you don’t believe such a place, or experience exists, then you haven’t been to "Turner’s Enchanted Forest".
Would be poets, writers, philosopher, nature lovers, hunters and reclusive, hermit types, will fall in love with this storybook cottage. The owners and their family have enjoyed countless hours hunting in this exhilarating forest.
This wonderful camp is just what the doctor ordered when prescribing a strong dose of relaxation.
Trust us, once you walk through this door, all the day to day problems will disappear. The camp has been wired for a generator, has gas heat, gas, and or generator electric power, plus a gas kitchen stove.
The view from the front porch is simply serene. Your first impression of the surrounding landscape will leave you with a sense of euphoria.
The camp setting emits a strong sense of calm, almost as though the outside world doesn’t exist. The cottage is on the edge of a huge wildlife sanctuary, home to countless woodland creatures. Listen to, and watch the Song Birds, Majestic Red Tail Hawk circle above, and the distant Doe, with her new born Fawns. Pure Country!!!!
There is no running water at the camp. With this in mind, the brave at heart, will have to endure this quaint outhouse ... it works and affords privacy. Some refer to it as the library .. second office, etc... etc..
Before we go, lets take a look inside the house. You’ll find the home to be well cared for. The living room features a beamed ceiling. Note the deer harvested from the "Enchanted Forest".
The owners are obviously outdoor enthusiasts.... displaying a full wall, autumn woodland mural.
There is a spacious master bedroom ... plus a smaller bedroom.
The owner added a office which could also be used as a third bedroom, and or nursery.
The kitchen, combination dining room, boasts a pantry, numerous cupboards, stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher.
There is a serving counter separating the kitchen from the dining area. Special features include central air, central vacuum, a full basement, and a self start automatic generator.
The only downside to "Turner’s Enchanted Forest", is when you have to leave, either short, or long term.
Turners "Enchanted Forest" affords approx. 814' of frontage on Washington County Rte. 21. The road is County maintained, and affords easy access to numerous lakes, streams, golf courses, downhill ski centers, restaurants and medical facilities, in both New York and nearby Vermont.
WOW!!! Check out the recent trail camera photo’s taken at Turners Enchanted Forest.
Hunters will be thrilled with the number of deer, as well as the quality. The deer displayed on the owners living room wall are very impressive!!! ~~~~ Think about what the new owner will get .... a beautiful ranch home, incredible views, a two story garage/combination workshop, four bay pole barn, dog kennel, dog run, a super deer camp/cottage, a stream, a early period stage coach barn, endless groomed trails, an apple grove, surrounded by 187 magical acres. Better hurry!! ~~~~ JUST IN .... JULY 2011 .... NEW PHOTO’S!! Attention Deer, & Nature Hunters We just received photo’s via various trail camera’s placed in the forest surrounding the Deer Camp. These photos were taken on July 19, 20 & 21, 2011. It appears there are several bucks, possibly two, 4 point bucks, at least one 6 point, and the makings of a large, wide rack, 8 point? The antlers are still in velvet, these deer are still growing their head gear. We expect there will be even more impressive photos in the near future. Better hurry ... some lucky hunter is sure to buy this very special property in time for hunting season!!!!
Who wouldn’t want to put their tag on this big boy? His antlers are still growing. Imagine how large he will be by opening day. Photo taken at 4:19 A.M. on July 21, 2011
We couldn’t tell for sure, but it appears this is a good 4, or possibly a 6, or even an 8 pointer? July 19, 2011 .... AM
~8:32 A.M., July 19, 2011 ~ It’s not often you’ll photograph what appears to be twin 4, or even 6 point bucks, at the same time.
"Surprise" How about a close up of a nice 6 point buck. Remember .... his antlers are still growing. Think about this .... this wildlife paradise has been posted for years, and now contains a substantial number of deer, both good bucks, and does alike. We can honestly state we don’t have, and haven’t had, a property of this caliber for only $269,000.00, in a very, very long time. 187 acres, a lovely well maintained ranch home, a very special hunting cabin, a 2-3 car, 2 story heated garage, a huge pole barn/equipment barn, an early period slate roof stage coach barn, and a large fenced dog kennel. WOW! Some lucky person, family, or group of individuals, will recognize this incredible buy, and make it their own. It’s the place where memories are made, and dreams will come true. Maybe, just maybe, you’ll be the next owner of "Turner’s Enchanted Forest". Don’t’ wait too long to be that lucky buyer. Hunting season is just around the corner ~~~~
"Turner’s Enchanted Forest" Trail Cam Photo’s taken on 9/14/2011 It shows both a 6 and 8 point buck sparring. ~~~~ October - November 2011 The trail camera’s continue to reveal just a portion of the Whitetail Bucks that inhabit "Turner’s Enchanted Forest". The most recent photo’s were taken in late October, and early November 2011
This nice 8 point was meandering along one of the many trails during daylight hours.
Shortly after the 8 point strolled by, this 5 point appeared. Once again, in broad daylight.
We assume this is a 6 point buck. A large healthy example of one of the many deer lucky enough to live in "Turner’s Enchanted Forest".
This young 4 point, has the makings of becoming a large "mature" specimen. Imagine what he will become in another year or two. The Turner Family only harvests the large bucks, allowing the smaller bucks to mature.
